Five Tips for Style on A Budget
When it comes to style, there’s no reason why you can’t be on trend just because you’re a mom. And this is especially true for a single mama who might be single and ready to mingle. If you’ve got super littles, then you might still need to lug around those diaper bags, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t look good doing it. If you’re wanting to look your best but you’ve got a spending cap, here are five tips for style on a budget so you can look good at a bargain price.
Thrift stores and shared designer closets are your friend!
Many of us used to feel a bit skeeved out at the thought of wearing clothes that others have worn, but this is a thing of the past. With online retailers like ThredUP and Rent the Runway, you can look great without breaking the bank. If you’re looking to spruce up your wardrobe for the upcoming season, or have a big event coming and want to look fab, these two options are a great go-to so you can be stylish without maxing out your credit card.
Create a time capsule wardrobe
Think of your wardrobe as an investment, and not just stuff you buy hoping it’ll look cute. You’ll want to invest your money in creating a capsule wardrobe that’s full of staple pieces you can mix and match no matter the season. These are clothing pieces such as distressed denim, cardigans, chambray blouses, little black dresses, etc.
Invest in quality over quantity
This age-old adage never goes out of style. Plus, quality lasts. If you slowly work on adding luxury or high end items to your wardrobe, those clothes will stand the test of time. It’s a lot better than adding cheap clothing that quickly fades or looks worn. Plus, that way you’ll feel chic and stylish every time you slip it on.
Buy on sale out of season
This style on a budget trip will amaze you if you don’t implement this practice already. It’s also a great way to save on your kids’ clothes for the following year too—although you’ll need to go a size up when it comes to the growing kiddos. Don’t go with bold prints or something else that screams last season, but choose to splurge on sale items when it’s end of season because you can get a lot more for a lot less.
Shop with actual money, not credit cards
This might not seem like it should fall on our list of style tips on a budget, but trust us, it is! When it comes to credit cards, unless you’re paying those balances off in full each month, those purchases will inevitably earn interest. And you know what that means—you’re spending more than you should! We have tips for you to save money, so that way, you can put that extra money saved towards your investment wardrobe!
